Architecture and rephotography

Class 4 completed a chilly walk around Knaresborough today to play 'architectural detectives' with the fantastic array of historical buildings in Knaresborough. We had previously looked at some old photographs of the area which were then used as part of a 'rephotography' project (see photo gallery).

We looked at all the information around us to find the dates, style and features of buildings ranging from 11th century to the modern day:

Green Dragon Yard
Lookout to viaduct War memorial
National School
Old Castle School
Town Hall
Barclays Bank
Train station
Gallon House

We also spotted many many other buildings, street names and information plaques which gave us clues as the history of this fascinating town.
